An orthopedic surgeon performs the skin incision to reach the fracture area. After repositioning the fracture, he stabilize it with the plate by its pre-fixation on the bone. Then he enters the screws in respective holes under the proper angle to fix the plate to the bone.
It is important to note that the plate does not have to adhere to the bone. On the contrary, the plate is designed to limit its contact with the bone, what provides better blood supply to the fracture area, what significantly accelerates healing.
